It was the royal challengers turn to face the wrath of gilli's men at sahara stadium,Cape Town. Wednesday's fixture was seen as a tug of war by the pundits and the match lived up to its expectations.
The audience were enthralled by the fireworks displayed by gilli, rohit in the first innings and then by rahul and kohli in the second innings.Chasing down a mammoth total of 184 runs set up gilly and company was a tough ask for the royal challengers.
Ryder and K.P failed yet again which added fire to the fury .Dravid(48) and Kohli(50) held the fort for some time but all was in vain as the challengers fell 24runs short of their their target.Thanks to some swashbuckling innings from gilly(74) and timely knock from rohit(52).The duo tore apart the bowling attack and in the end imposed a huge total of 184.
With this win the Deccan Chargers move to the top of the points table erasing the horrifying memories of its last outing at the IPL. Its early days still.Much is expected from them. As a hyderabadi i wish them all the best for the whole tournament.
