Political Marketing: The new chapter in politics

Political parties are following a new mantra called “The political marketing” not only across the country but also the world. The parties are clearly perfecting the art of capturing the voters mind by advertising their ideology, policies & goals. “The Money Transfer Scheme “ (whether it may be a hit or flop) introduced by TDP is a live example of this, The party has succeeded in marketing the party’s policy towards its voters. The channel they have utilized is a new evolving concept called “Political Marketing”. The voter is changing, he is now proactive and he is clearly scrutinizing the issues in a more careful and effective manner. Hence even the politicians are tilting towards these new concepts.
Political marketing can be briefly defined in my words as the application of marketing principles and procedures in political campaigns by the politicians.( I have limited knowledge, correct me on this if you feel am missing any thing).
The product that the politicians are marketing is a wrap-up of the party ideology, promises & pledges, assurances. This product is being sold to voters through attractive slogans. So here comes marketing, politicians are playing the role of sales persons & marketing managers trying to sell their product to the customers(voters). The profits & losses are measured in terms of power(seats won & lost).
Young leaders are quickly mastering this art. Even the U.S presidential election is now a theatre of marketing techniques, which ever candidate markets his parties product successfully through the debates is likely to win the election. The same is being inherited by Indian politicians, who knows tomorrow a degree in the field of “Political marketing” may be a prerequisite for the candidates standing for elections. ‘am eagerly waiting for this to happen in India. Keeping my fingers crossed am taking leave.

The CEC finds his vote deleted.

The efficiency of the Election authorities was questioned again on Thursday at Nirman Bhavan when the CEC himself found his vote missing.Much to his dismay he found his voter card deleted in the database, thanx to our authorities. There was high drama unfolded at the Nirman Bhavan as his name was initially missing from the voters' list, but it was later found that his name had appeared on another list as he had shifted home after his promotion as CEC. With nothing to do, the CEC casted his vote in another booth.
"There was confusion and I voted in booth number 86," Chawla told the media outside Nirman Bhavan where his booth was located.
The election officials scrambled to find out that he was listed in another booth, because he is the CEC. Would they have done it for an average voter?Ha ha the answer is a big nope.

The new face of captalist america under President Obama...

Keeping on of the biggest election promises he made, president

Barack Obama has declared to end the tax incentive to those US companies which create jobs overseas and instead provide these incentives to those creating jobs inside the country.

"We will stop letting American companies that create jobs overseas take deductions on their expenses when they do not pay any American taxes on their profits," President said at White House.

Announcing the tax policy reforms, he added that US will use the savings to give tax cuts to companies that are investing in research and development at home in order to create jobs along with promoting innovation and competitiveness of America. These new tax laws will hit countries like India and China as the outsourcing revenues which form a significant part of the economy are bound to be adversely hit.

By announcing this president Obama is contradicting the basic laws on which his country has thrived all these years. America is a capitalist country and capitalism has only one goal, “earn money at all cost”. So are we seeing an America tilting from its basic ideas under president Obama? The answer for this question is a slow yes. Is this a little step towards communalism? At this point we cannot answer this question but definitely there is a huge change in Americas capitalistic principles.

Sri Lanka: The emarald..

There is a humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka’s North, involving tens of thousands of Tamil civilians uprooted from their homes or held hostage in an embattled sliver of coastal land that barely comprises seven square km.The lankan army is tighting its grip over the LTTE, but the organization doesnt seem to give up.Instead they are giving the army a tight fist. The army is saying that it is taking all precautionary steps to protect the srilankan tamils held as hostages. But in reality it is as alive as an egyptian mummy. What ever be the outcome of the war the people are the worst hit by it.
There is a lot of western pressure on Mr.Rajapaksa, regarding this issue, but he can weather the storm by just showing them what they have done during the wars on Iraq & Afghanisthan. It is a good sign that
the Sri Lankan government, had instructed the security forces not to use heavy calibre guns, combat aircraft, and aerial weapons in the no fire zone. Atleast it will eliminate the worst thought disasters.
The srilankan tamils are now in a state of desperation as their future hangs on the balance. Will the lankan government give them equal status with the simhalese people? Will they get basic needs like food , shelter, basic medical care and education? or will they be treated as slaves by the lankan government? All these questions are haunting their minds.

The modalities should not be difficult to work out considering that the alternatives are elimination of the remaining LTTE cadres or amnesty and rehabilitation, which President Rajapaksa has promised for most of them, barring of course Velupillai Prabakaran and other hard-core leaders of the terrorist organisation.

International bodies, human rights commisions, red cross etc must look into the fate of the srilankan tamils or else everything will be revived again.

The metamorphosis of durgamcheruvu into a new hussain sagar..

Ref:Pillar To Post, Times of India.
"The pride of Hi tech city", "The jewel of hi tech city" these are the phrases that are generally associated with the lake Durgam cheruvu. It is the place that was giving some peace and happiness to the burdened and tired technocrats working around its vicinity.people just hang up here with their company and charge up again for the next week.
All this is soon going to come to an end.It is quite pathetic. The present condition of the lake is filthy. The lake is dying a slow death and so are the creatures living in it.The ecology of the lake is being disturbed by the litter and human waste. And the passive behaviour of the officials concerned is adding wind to the fire. The stench emanating from the lake has become repulsive that people are unable to walk around the bank. The water in the lake is tunning murky and its high time or else soon the lake will turn into a new hussain sagar.
I urge the IT professionals to take a notice of this and question the concerned authorities. Please add this case to the "Go Green programme".Immediate restoration is required .

The roar of Democracy..

The Elections are over, public meetings, rallies, road shows every thing have come to an end from yesterday (at least for some time) . The fate of the leaders from political parties is sealed in the EVM box.The election commission has put a marathon effort by conducting the election in free peaceful and fair manner(some exceptions allowed). All the attention now shifts to the counting date.I am very happy that this time youth participated largely in the elections. This is what the state and country needs. Most of the people who were viewing the election day as a public holiday all these days, casted their vote .Thanks to the campaing from various organizations like "JAAGO REY" , "LEAD INDIA" etc. this time the polling percentage in A.P rose to a mamoth 70%(much is to be done though).
The drama unveils on may 16.Till then the leaders sure will have sleepless nights. At this moment i would like to take time to praise the main War Horses Mr.I.V.Subba Rao and Mr.Mohanthy who had taken stringent steps to control the negative forces that were trying to deviate the Voters mind.A lot of Money,Liquor, jewellery, sport kits were seized before they changed the hands.
I have a special praise to my good friend Mr.Rakesh reddy who tried to enlighten his peers & friends about the importance of voting where ever possible and with what ever means(blogs, orkut, mobile, email, community).
All hail Democracy, All hail Democratic India. Jai Hind.

Pursuit of Happiness

Hi. It must sound a bit odd for all you earthlings with the title that I have selected for my debut as a blogger, even i was amazed by the words "Pursuit of Happiness ", the next moment my inquisitive mind started asking me the question "Should Happiness be pursued?? " The best way i thought was to write an article over this phrase.
Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness are described as unalienable Rights, given to the Americans by its constitution, we all understand life, liberty but what is the significance of the word "pursuit". Well before finding the significance of this word let me throw some light on the word "Happiness".
I would like to define Happiness "as a journey which no person wants to end throughout his/her life and even in the afterlife".For some warmth gives happiness for some the opposite cold gives happiness, for some life is happiness for some death is happiness, for some wealth is happiness where as for some health is.. Hence happiness cannot be in one ,it is diverse and even unique.
"Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony."
According to the the great Mahatma Gandhi. Many great minds have defined this word with a life long experience. But again my inquisitive mind questioned me "What makes happy people happy"? The answer is finding means to be happy makes them happier that is utilizing the opportunities that life has presented to them, converting each challenge into an opportunity,
on the whole pursuing it makes happy people happy.
Happiness must be chased, it must be cornered, and it must be experienced. What ever complications life throws in the divine pursuit of happiness , we must solve them and achieve the happiness that is right of every living thing. I feel that am in pursuit of happiness and i encourage you to do so. "Go Pursue the happiness that rightly, eternally belongs to you. open your minds, amble towards it, go for it."and with these lines I welcome you to my blog.
