Why shouldnt sachin play T20 world cup????

The majestic cover drive, the impeccable straight drive, the master pulls, hooks the cheeky nudges past the slips and over the third man , the fascinating cover drive, the golden square drive all the shots of the book are going to be missed by the cricketing world at the home of cricket(England) as its greatest master has decided to abstain from the T20 world cup. This news has generated shock waves among the cricket lovers as their greatest gladiator is making himself absent for the tournament.
Perhaps, he is habituating his spectators to the cruel truth that he is going to end one day, and the day is near. His day of hanging the boots is near as he is already 36 and his body is battered and bruised while weathering the storms over the past 20 years. His critics have prophesied that "Sachin's inclusion in to the T20 team would imbalance the team."Sachin being a proud man has himself proclaimed that he wouldnt play the T20 world cup as he felt that he would be a burden to the team.
Remember, though, that the same ‘well-balanced’ team lost 0-2 to the Kiwis in the T20s, before bouncing back to comfortably win the ODI and Test series. Sure, you could argue that India was still acclimatizing to Kiwi conditions when the T20 matches were being played. But I couldn’t help feeling that the team could have done with a calm head and steadying influence in that first match, where batsman after batsman perished making vainglorious attempts to cross the ropes when a few nudges and pushes might have been better advised. India’s present T20 squad is, undoubtedly, a very good one. But let’s not be overconfident and act as if it doesn’t have any weaknesses at all. The loss in New Zealand should have taught us that, at least.
Maybe Sachin wants to pick and choose his matches in an effort to rest his body and prolong his career, especially given Indian cricket’s packed schedule. It makes sense, and one can understand if he wants to skip inconsequential matches. But surely a T20 World Cup is special enough to merit exceptional treatment? After all, Sachin does play in the IPL, doesn’t he? And while IPL’s big bucks certainly don’t hurt, I think he’s probably well past the stage where money alone would motivate him to do anything he really doesn’t want to.
Being a proud man sachin is unlikely to reverse his decision. That's a pity
Because when the moving ball starts asking questions in England, the strokeplayers struggle for answers, and the team needs someone to hold up one end while scoring at a decent clip, I don’t think there’s anyone who can do a better job than the little master.

  1. I can understand your interest for Sachin Tendulkar. As u know I am also a die hard fan of master blaster. But consider his fitness also... If u observe one thing whenever he scored 50 or more in recent times u can clearly see the tiredness in his body language. Even more fit players in world cricket also retired at the age of 35. That doesn't mean they r not competitive enough but that means a player's body supports him to play international cricket up to one age only. We know sachin is not among the list fittest players because he always suffered from different injury problems all through his career. I strongly feel he don't need play in all 3 forms of games....That can shorten his career too. Even today whatever the form of the game I am ready to watch sachin playing even if it costs me one day salary. But do consider his situation too. We are his fans... he has a long way to go. Cricket is not end of all. As the quotes of the movie Rann says "Truth is Terrible"... You got to accept some truths of life. Be proud and say loudly that we were there in this world when sachin was playing. Kudos to master batsman and thanks for the article. As of now my motto is "I WILL SEE GOD WHEN I DIE BUT TILL THEN I WILL SEE SACHIN".

  2. man am not asking sachin to play every galli ka
series.Am asking him to play this series as Its a world cup man. How on earth can u swallow the bitter pill that Sachin is not playing a 3 hour T20 world cup bcoz of his fitness although he is fit to play 5 day test cricket.Explain me its a
world cup man where the best players of the world are putting their show on and our best player is putting his show off.The team needs his experience.

  3. I know but try to understand one thing... sachin has to compromise on something if he wants to stay here for a long time. He said he won't play in T20s, that means he opted to play in ODIs and tests than T20. yes T20 is just for 3 hrs but don't you think the pressure is very high and the intensity is high. You need to put in lot of hard work in those 3hrs(may be 1:30 to 2 hrs to be specific). It's a world cup but if he is not interested in playing T20s leave it to his decision yaar. all these years we respected his choices and when all of a sudden one day if he decides to stay away from the game... It hurts but it's our responsibility to accept it. But one thing is there.... If he is ready to play in IPL then he should play in world cup too. I don't understand the reason behind playing for IPL. It's not fair actually. People say it's for money but I feel it's because he wants to promote that tournamen twhich is started for a good cause .. that is to encourage domestic players. We can argue on this for years... But I can say one thing... I am pretty comfortable with his decision of not playing in T20s. He has decided to dedicate full time for Tests and ODIs that's it. To be frans if you are technically good player then you get satisfaction in playing ODIs and tests than T20s. There are many people to promote T20s... but our sachin will glorify the age old cricket... ODIs and tests. Thanks Sachin :)
